toast needle book DIY

Hey! Here's you a tutorial for making a little book to hold your pins & needles! :)

supplies needed: felt, embellishments for face.

Cut out two rectangles of felt the same size(mine were 2&1/2" by 5") lay them on top of each other & sew a line down the middle(horizontally)

fold in half.

Cut out you toast shapes from felt. make sure its about the same size as the front of your felt book. maybe a little bigger.

Sew your toast pieces together & add a face. (I used brads for the eyeballs, and sewed a smile.)

glue or sew your toast to the front of your neelde book and your done! Simply add in your needles & pins! :)

This can also easily be decorated with something besides toast. Im thinking pandas, owls, maybe star trek? lol. I hope you liked this tute. I'd love to see your version of this. Simply link it to the comments in this post!

my first hand carved stamps

One of the style school projects was hand carving your own stamps, how cool is that? But I didnt have anything to carve them on, except a potato, which fell apart! haha! it was sad. :( And then the other day I found a carving block *on clearence* an hobbylobby! squueee! So I have been playing with it all day. here are the stamps I've made so far:

I have one that says "punk projects", a whale( I love whales) and an owl, because I love owls even more than I love whales, lol

The owl is without a doubt my favorite.

Here are a few other handcarved stamps found across the web that I loves...

A star trek communicator badge, lol

I love AJ's awesome tree stamp

wow, I love the bike stamp paper scissor tape carved. and the rest of her stamps too :)

crafts, widgets, etc

a few crafts I've made lately:

A pouch/wallet made from ties. This was a style school project, but they used karate belts & since I didnt have any karate belts on hand, I decided to use some ties! :) These are actually my great grandpas ties. My mom has claimed this wallet for herself. lol

and I made a pincushion using the tutorial from Freckled Nest. I actually used ribbon scraps tho instead of fabric. (since we are in the process of moving, my mom packed all the fabric! ahh!) Oh, and the Unicycle is something I embroidered a long time ago & just never used for anything, so I decided to just add it to the middle of my pin cushion, lol. (and yes, I do own & ride a unicycle.)

the back was made from an old scarf my sister had. :D

And, On a different thought, I have widgets!(they are on the right side of my blog) If you add it to your blog (and tell me in the comments) I will add yours to mine. :)
