Hairspray is one of my favorite movies(besides star trek, lol)! my family is having a hairspray themed bday party for all the girls, and here are the invitations we made:

I cut the Hairspray can out on the cricut and punched the gold dots out of foam. :) I love how they turned out. I can't wait for the party, it's going to be fun.

Recycled Earrings Tutorial!

Hello! Here is a tutorial Taylor and I made the other day! Earrings out of a fast food cup! If you do them red/white/blue like mine, they are just in time for the 4th of July, which is only a couple of weeks away! :)

Supplies: a plastic cup (I used a cup from quiktrip), wire, jump rings, and 2 earring fishhooks(that's the top part of the earring.)

1. Cut your cup down the middle, drawing 6 stars onto it of varying sizes and cutting them out. Punch a small hole in the top of each star, and attach jumprings.

2. stack 3 stars ontop of each other and thread a length of wire about 5 inches long through the jumprings.

start twisting your wire until its the length you want you earring to be.

thread through the eye of the fishhook part, and then bend the wires down back towards your earrings, and twist the ends around the already twisted wire. I took a pair of pliers and pinched where the ends were, so that they would not be sharp.

3. now go put on your pretty pretty earrings! Taylor also made a brooch from the plastic cup to match the earrings(you can see it in the first picture) It turned out really cute.

I would *love* to see your version, if you do this, please leave me a link in the comments, or email me. thanks!

melted army men

My craft room is finally all put together again(well, for the most part) which means I can finally start doing some real crafts again. ;)
like this cool little saucer...

made from plastic army men. I saw this in a craft book one time, and wanted to do it, but just now got around to it. ;)

Here's the army before I melted them... I set them all up on my desk, lol, I had fun.

I was originally going to make a bowl from army men, but I didnt have enough of them. oh well,I like it. Have you ever melted anything cool and turned it into something?

the 1980's called

Here are some of the photos from our photoshoot, Yep, It is 1980's theme. :) All the clothes were my moms from the 80's, the jeans are totally retro. lol, one pair has neon fruit, the other is neon and say "video" and "TV"

Since my hair is super stright and doesn't go big without a ton of hairspray, Taylor just gave me a side ponytail, like Deb's from napoleon dynamite.. I love that movie. :)
