A Fun DtsArt Project

You know the DtsArt design team I'm on? Well our project this week was to cut these cut frames out on the cricut- I really loved the colors of these papers combined..
After I cut them out, I decided to do a fun layout using them. ( You will see more about this layout later this summer!!)
Do any of you guys have a cricut? You can visit the DtsArt SVG shop, here.

Fun Flowers..

Good Morning, you guys!  I have a new project to show you...
I made these for the DtsArt Design Team using a couple of Sweet Treat Cups from Stampin' Up.
I'd never used sweet treat cups before, but I really like how you can fill them with fun things-- I filled one of them with Gobstoppers candy and I put buttons in the other one, just cause they were cute.

What do you think? I like them. :)
You can find the SVG file available for purchase, here.

Restyle your old Paint Brushes! Guest post from Crafted

Hey Punk Project readers!
Dom from Crafted blog here. :)
I have a little tutorial for you. This tutorial is very similar to Katies tutorial how to restyle your scissors in fact thats exactly what gave me the idea. :) So I thought where better to share this tutorial with the world than on Punk Projects!

I shall call it...
How to restyle your old PAINT BRUSHES. :)

I used:
Wrapping paper
Paint brushes
Sanding block
Mod Podge

Alternatively you can use:
any thin decorative paper.
Paint brushes
Sand paper
Any good quality decoupage style glue.

Sand back the paint on the brush handle.
This will help the paper stick to the brush.

Tear off a small piece of paper. Long enough to wrap around the brush. Because paint brushes are round you will get the best effect if you wrap the paper around the brush.

Spread glue onto the the first part of the brush you want to cover.

Stick the paper onto the brush. Cover the paper with another layer of glue.

Continue this all the process all the way along the handle.
Be sure to cover the top of all the paper with the glue.

TA DA!
I just love how these turned out! I want to do this to all of my old brushes! Just think how awesome that would be to have such pretty handles on all of those yucky looking brushes. :)

What's Mod Podge? Freakin' super awesome stuff! I think it was originally created in the 60's by a woman who wanted to cover her VW beetle in pictures. pretty groovy huh. ;)
It's 3 in 1. Sealer, glue, varnish. I love it. If you do a lot of paper craft it is definitely a product you should own. :)

Pop on over to Crafted Blog and say hi. :)
Thanks for having me again Katie. :)

Dom.
xx

Guest Post from Marci!

Hello!  I'm marci from Dreaming in Craft and It's Always Something.  I'm back today with a craft project!

I love to take pictures.  It's one of my favorite things to do.  I don't have many of my own photographs up in my house so I thought it would be fun to try out a new way to display my pictures.  Instead of just putting them in a frame I decided to make them 3D!  I really didn't know what I was doing but I got together supplies that I thought I would need and got to work.

I covered the back of a shadow box with white cardstock and then used Sticky Doos (little foam stickers you can find in the scrapbooking section at the craft store) to add the first layer.

I continued layering the pieces of the picture until I felt like it looked done.  I stacked the Sticky Doos on top of each other for the Capitol building to make it taller but it would also work to just have the bottom layer include the capitol building and layer with one set of Sticky Doos.  I did that for the Greetings part and it was much simpler.  If I make another photo shadow box I will probably do that to make it go a little quicker.  I think the layers could be a little taller to stand out more, too.  I was making it up as I went so I didn't even know what I was going to layer until I was doing it.  :-)

I planned on making layers for Texas and the artist's name at the top but when I got to this point I thought it looked finished so I left the rest flat.  I like that the bottom layer has something besides just the blue background.

Now I have a fun picture to hang in my house!  From a distance it looks just like a regular photograph but when you get closer you see that's it's much more.  :-)
