Color Chaos - An Art Journal Collaboration

Today I have a fun art journal project to share with you- As you know, I am a member of the group Get Messy Art Journal. Besides just having fabulous art and journal prompts, the community also does a lot of little swaps or collaborations and I'm usually game for them because they're super fun!

This time, 7 of us "Get Messians" decided to do sort of an art journal round robin, we each start a journal and send it to each other, letting the others create pages in their journals.

The twist? Each journal is a different color! Fun! Mine is pink.

The inside of my journal is made with mixed media paper and gelli printed cardstock, and I bound it using my Zutter Bind It All machine to give it a spiral binding.

Each of us started our own journals so they're all different, some handmade, some not, but all awesome.

In my journal I did 8 pages, they don't have a theme other than being pink.

On this page, I actually used my new Minc machine to foil the quote. I used a toner ink marker to write it out onto a piece of paper, foiled it and then adhered it into my journal.

It's hard to take a picture to get the actual shine, but in person it is pretty cool.

I also created a few "group pages" in my journal, that I am hoping everyone will contribute to.
This page is anything goes-

and I created a couple of pages that are like those activity books I used to do as a kid (anyone else?), where you have a prompt to follow.

About half of the pages in my journal are blank mixed media paper and the other half are gelli prints I made in pink, so some of the pages already have pink backgrounds just waiting for my art homies to add to them.

Wondering what this "Get Messy" is that I speak of?
Get Messy Art Journal is an art journaling program/community. We are a group of like minded art journalers who have come together under this art form to learn, share, practice our skills and push past our creative limits with hopes to inspire. Our community values consistent creating, encouragement and suppport and trying new things. We would love to have you join us as a member of Get Messy Art Journal. Click here to view more details
