Get Messy Season of Art - Acrylics

It's a new season over at *Get Messy, the Season of Art 101! So for the next few weeks I'll be working in this Field Notes journal, experimenting with art techniques,

*Get Messy Art Journal is an art journaling program that is a school, art playground and family. We are a group of like minded art journalers who have come together under this art form to learn, share, practice our skills and push past our creative limits with hopes to inspire. Our community values consistent creating, encouragement and support and trying new things. We would love to have you join us as a member of Get Messy Art Journal.

This week was all about acrylic paints and I had a ton of fun experimenting with them.
For my first page I made a background inspired by these paint scraped notecards by Persia Lou.

My next page has a bit of collage, as well as painted papers, gelli prints and then painted vines on top.

On the page below I was doing a bit more experimenting with high flow acrylic paints by Golden. I love these paints!

This week I also played around and mixed up my own paint colors. I actually mix my own colors all of the time, but I've never named them, so it was quite a challenge (in a good way) to come up with names.

Do you mix your own paints much?
