It is the Season of Color at *Get Messy. So for the next few weeks I'm working in this handmade journal.
*Get Messy Art Journal is an art journaling program that is a school, art playground and family. We are a group of like minded art journalers who have come together under this art form to learn, share, practice our skills and push past our creative limits with hopes to inspire. The first page I'm sharing here is my favorite of the week. Which is no doubt because it has galaxies. I used strips of my favorite starry washi tapes and painted watercolor galaxies in between them.
I'm not 100% in love with this next page. I think I added a bit too much water onto the rainbow on the left side and the colors got a bit muddy. Oh well.
I do like this last page, although it doesn't feel like it's quite my normal style. It's my painty/collage style that I throw into my journal once in a while. Usually after I've been looking at some of Misty's pages.
I do love this bird though. I got him from a National Geographic magazine. It was also fun to work in a (mostly) monochromatic color scheme.
That's it for me this week. With the extra long holiday weekend, I felt like I spent a little less time in my studio, so less creative time. But that's things are already back to normal. :)
